You can use use Google groups to easily back up all the Emails in your Gmail account.As compared to forwarding to any Third party email Service or any other site it is more safe and you won’t have to customize anything.
Setting up the Google group To receive backups
1.Create a New Google group using your Existing Google account.Name it something like “My Gmail Backup”. Remember to keep the Access level restricted because you don’t want to let the World know what’s lying in your Inbox. 2.Create the group and Skip the Invite members Step. 3.Click on Group Settings and select the “Advanced tab” 4.Click on “ Use Google groups to manage Remote archive”.Enter your Gmail address.Do not enter your Google group’s email address here. 5.Copy the generated Google Groups address and keep it in a Safe place.You will need it later to forward your Gmail messages in this group.
Set up your Gmail Account to Send the emails to Google Group archive
Now we will configure your Gmail account to Send The emails you receive in your Google groups Archive that you just created. 1.Log in to your Gmail account and click on settings. 2.Now Click On “Forwarding and POP” and enter the Google groups email You created . 3.Now you can either Forward all Your Mail to the Google group or You can Forward only Selected mails based on a particular Filter.In the latter case Click on “Filters” and Set up your own filters. 4.Once you have set your Filters click on Save.That’s it. Your Google group email is ready to receive backups. To test this feature send an email to your Gmail account.You should have a copy of the mail In your Gmail Inbox as well as in your Google groups email Inbox.Deleting an email from Gmail won’t delete the mail from your Google Groups inbox.So whenever You wish to Recover an accidentally deleted mail log in to your Google groups mail and you can recover it.
