World’s Cheapest tablet unveiled – Akash Ubislate 7
Finally the much awaited India’s ultra-low-cost tablet, Aakash, has been finally launched. Aakash is the world’s cheapest touch-screen tablet computer, priced at just $35 (£23).
Aakash Tablet, developed by UK-based company DataWind and Indian Institute of Technology (Rajasthan), is powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo) and a 366 Mhz processor the 7-inch tablet has a resistive touch screen.
The Aakash tablet weighs 350 grams and has 256MB RAM and an internal storage of 2GB Flash memory. It also supports Wi-Fi connectivity, includes a microphone and stereo earphone and supports additional external memory up to 32 GB and includes an USB port.
