Petrol prices spiked – Rs 79 per litre in Mumbai, Rs 70 per litre in Delhi, at highest since August, 2014

National and Financial capitals of India- Delhi & Mumbai witnessed a drastic hike in the petrol pricing on Saturday and the new price is at a pinching rate of Rs 70.03 per litre and Rs 79.14 per litre respectively, highest since August 2014. As per news report, this rise has taken petrol rates to the highest in last eight months. Since July, the price of petrol and diesel has seen a rise of Rs 7.11 and Rs 5.09 per litre in Delhi. As per the report by PTI, the state-owned oil companies in June dumped the 15-year old practice of revising rates every 15 days, that is on 1st and 16th of every month and instead adopted a dynamic daily price revision to instantly reflect changes in cost. AAP received Rs 50 lakh each from 4 companies on single day

In a new revelation, media has accessed documents which show that at least four companies had donated Rs 50 Lakh each on a single day to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Shiv Charan Goel. The party, however, did not disclose the donation details to the Election Commission about the funding. Notably, AAP is already facing a probe in disclosed funding case after the sacked Delhi Water Minister, Kapil Mishra, alleged party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of corruption charges. Metro services to remain unaffected as Jats call off protest in Delhi after talks with Haryana govt

Metro services will largely remain unaffected on Monday as the planned Jat protests were called off on Sunday evening following talks with the Manohar Khattar-led Haryana government. “Our agitation and march towards Delhi has been called off,” said Yashpal Malik, the chairperson of the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS), PTI reported. Malik’s announcement came as Khattar held a press conference saying the Centre and state would soon begin the process of giving Jats reservation, the key demand of the community.
