7 Reasons Why BJP Won An Unprecedented Mandate In Uttar Pradesh

Opinion, Uttar Pradesh
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s unprecedented victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections has left everyone asking the same question – how did the party manage to register such a thumping majority? Here are eight reasons why the BJP won big in the state. 1. Modi’s Connect With The People Much of the credit for the BJP’s win in Uttar Pradesh goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The win is testament to the trust he enjoys among the people of the state. During the party’s aggressive campaigning, PM Modi did not forgo a single opportunity to lead from the front, even if that meant a prolonged stay in Varanasi. 2. Demonetization Effect A lot was said about demonetization and its effects on the common man. However, the way things have panned out, it appears that the ma...

An internet data analysis says the BJP could get between 220-222 seats and about 35 per cent vote share in Uttar Pradesh. An artificial intelligence analysis of internet engagements across parties shows the Bharatiya Janata Party is far ahead in its online push and this could translate into 220-222 seats for the party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, the results for which will be announced tomorrow. Perhaps for the first time in India's history, the country has a prime minister who responds rather readily to tweets, in fact he once presented a scarf to someone who praised it on Twitter and frequently shares stories of his travels on social media. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's love and belief in the power of technology is all too well known. The Bharatiya Janata Party was the f...

PM Modi urges people to focus on responsibilities, duties on Mann ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the people to focus on their responsibilities, not just their rights. “People should focus both duties and rights in our discussions,” he said in his `Mann ki Baat” programme on Sunday. “We only think about our rights but forget our responsibilities. “I urge the citizens to focus on their duties towards the country and fellow citizens as much as they focus on their rights,” he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to soldiers who died in an avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir. “When we were happily celebrating Republic Day, soldiers were killed in an avalanche,” Modi said in his radio programme `Mann Ki Baat`. “I salute them.” At least 15 soldiers were killed after two avalanches hit a military post and a patrol along...

Black money has destroyed nation, fight against it: PM Modi to youth

Contending that black money had “destroyed” the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday reached out to the youth, asking them to fight against it along with social problems like caste discrimination, untouchability and harassment of women. Hailing the youth for their contribution to various aspects of the society, he pitched for new thinking while underlining the need for channelising the tremendous energy of the young people and preventing them from getting misled. The Prime Minister asked the youth to focus on six social challenges — ending of illiteracy, insensitivity, perverted thinking, failure to rise above caste considerations, ill-treatment of women and callous attitude towards the environment. “Black money has destroyed the country… Recently we took a major dec...

Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for demonetising Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev today said printing of Rs 2,000 currency notes should also be stopped in future. ”The adverse effect of high denomination currency is evident as the fake currency in the denomination of Rs 2,000 notes has arrived (in the market). The bigger value note has the same problem for which Modiji has scrapped the other ones,” Ramdev told reporters here. “Fake currency note in high denomination is convenient for printing, transportation and difficult to trace. I feel the printing of Rs 2,000 note should be stopped in future,” he added. “In future, wherever there will be a strong need, cash should be used otherwise we should move towards a cashless economy. As we move ahead towa...
