Airtel launches Android TV powered Internet TV set-top box starting at Rs. 4,999

Airtel has now made accessing online content on your TV a bit easier by launching its new Internet TV service in India. The service supports 4K content with added support for Dolby Atmos, and comes with a Hybrid DTH set top box, which is powered by Android TV and offers over 500 satellite TV channels alongside online content from Netflix, YouTube, Airtel Movies and more. Further, users will also have access to Google Play Music, Play Games as well as apps from the Play store. This is the first 4K enabled Android TV box in India, which comes with built-in Chromecast functionality.

The Airtel Internet TV Set-Top Box: Specifications and Features.

The Airtel’s Hybrid set-top box comes in an amazing sleek design, with a clutter-free and intuitive interface that will make you to purchase it instantly.

  • It includes inbuilt Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an HDMI port, two USB ports, as well as a port for a standard AV cable
  • Require 4G or Broadband (min 4 Mbps).
  • Android PC-on-stick feature.
  • The device comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB of in-built storage with support for a 128GB SDcard or a 2TB hard drive.

Apart from that, the Airtel Internet TV STB has a 4K of readily available content for the viewers to watch and also enables them to pause, record or even rewind  LIVE TV show. A regular Dish TV Antenna will also be a part of the installation.

Cost of Airtel Internet TV

The Airtel Internet TV STB is priced at Rs 4,999 with three month Digital TV subscription. Also, in its limited period offer you can get the STB at Rs 7,999 with a one year subcsription.

For the existing Airtel Digital TV users the  price is set to Rs, 3,999.

Availability in India

You can get the Airtel “Internet TV” on Amazon where it is exclusively available. It will also be availible via Airtel Digital TV touch points-retail stores/websites/contact centres soon after online launch.

For the home broadband users Airtel has much more options to offer. ‘Internet TV’ customers just need to register for myHOME on MyAirtel app and can avail up to 25GB additional data on their Airtel broadband account every month.

Existing Airtel Digital TV users can also upgrade to the Airtel Internet TV by giving a missed call on 8800488001.

Airtel is the second largest company in the telecom industry by revenue in the DTH segment and No.3 by the subscribers based on the 12.6 million customer base it has. More revenue is being expected from this new service.
